Hopeless Romantic in a Cynical Personification I am something of a dichotomy. I am generally cynical about the world, life isn't fair, the worst things will happen at the worst possible times etc, but somehow through it all I can't help but feel that love and romance should win through.
I also can't define romance, or a romantic date. They're entirely based on the person you're dating. What to one is hopelessly romatic (eg candlelit dinner with flowers and a nice bottle of wine) may be hopelessly cheesy to another. It is the abstract, ephemeral, ideas and words that mean a huge amount to one person, but are just hot air to another. For me true romance is something that grows between people, gentle yet stronger than steel.
And now I'm cringing at my own words... like I said, a dichotomy.
